Quick Green Beans

I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in forever, 6th grade was oh so busy. But now I have time to post more. This recipe MUST be made with dried herbs or it won’t work as well. Hope you like it.

 

Ingredients

1/2 cup Chopped Green Beans

Water

Lemon Juice

(Herb Rub)

1/2 tsp. salt

1//8 tsp. pepper

1 tsp. dried parsley

1 tsp. dried chives

Instructions

For the Herb rub, just mix the ingredients under (herb rub) together and set aside. Then put the chopped green beans, herb rub in a pot about half filled with water. Cook the beans until al-dente (firm to the bite) and drain. Set the beans on a plate and drizzle with lemon juice. ENJOY!

Background

I was at the Farmer’s Market today and ate this really good Veggie Quesadilla. I was surprised at how good the veggies were.  So I made it my summer project to create a bunch of easy, quick, healthy veggie recipes that anyone cane make.

Pesto Pasta

I love pesto, I could eat it forever without getting tired of it. This recipe was from  allrecipes.com check it out, it’s an awesome site. My family uses this recipe a lot! Hope you like it as much as I do.

Ps. A handy way to deal with not having enough basil is to buy frozen basil at Whole Foods, each cube of frozen basil is 1tsp.

Ingredients

2/3 cup basil/ 32tsp. frozen basil

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/3 cup olive oil

2TBSP. pine nuts

1/2 tsp. salt

1/8tsp. pepper

1 clove of garlic, peeled

 

Instructions

Put all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend until blended. If it’s a little chunky, don’t worry, it’ll melt on the hot pasta. ENJOY!

Idea

Yesterday I made a chocolate cake for my Grandfathers birthday. I used this really awesome cook-book that told me what might have gone wrong and why that happened. I was thinking that maybe I should make a page on my blog on reviewing cook-books. Please tell me if you like this idea, or if you don’t.

Mac ‘n Cheese

This is an easy way to dress up box mac ‘n cheese!

Ingredients

Your favorite box Mac ‘n Cheese

A frozen veggie, peas, broccoli, ect.

1/2 cup shredded chedder

2 TBS. parmasan cheese

Instructions

Prepare the Mac ‘n Cheese acorrding to the box. Then add the rest of the ingredients and stir on low heat til the veggies are heated through. ENJOY!

I got this recipe from a cookbook called the lunch box. It’s AWESOME! You guys should check it out. Sorry that I haven’t posted in a while, any suggestions for what I should do next?

Healthy Salmon

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in forever… I can’t think of anything to post. This recipe is simple, yummy, and really healthy.

Ingredients

Salmon

Salt

Pepper

Olive oil

Instructions

Line pan with foil. Drizzle on olive oil on foil. Sprinkle salt and pepper on pan. Put salmon in pan. Put more olive oil, salt and pepper on salmon. Broil salmon for about 6 minutes or until no longer dark pink. The salmon will be light pink when the salmon’s cooked. ENJOY!

Thanks Giving Snack

I’m so so so sorry I haven’t posted in forever. Since it’s the holidays and i’m so busy it’s like I have time for nothing. If You need a snack during the rush this is a yummy one.

Ingredients

Freshly popped popcorn

Melted butter

Toppings (Cheese powder, or you’re favorite grated cheese and or spices like chili powder, salt, pepper)

Instructions

Put popcorn in a bowl. Pour butter over it. Stir. Add any or all of the toppings to the popcorn. Mix. Serve. ENJOY!

Background

I used to have popcorn all the time before my braces and i experimented with all kinds of topping. These are a combinations of my favorites. Hope you like it.
